Last week for writing we were learning to use structure and language features of an explain piece of writing. I wrote my explanation on how Newton’s three laws of motion apply to our bottle rockets that we have been making for the wonder project. This is my explanation. I really enjoyed writing this explanation because I knew what I wanted to write and I also knew what all of Newton’s laws of motion are. Thinking of all the words I was going to use to make my writing easy to understand was hard.
How the three The Three Laws of Motion make the bottle rocket to fly.
This explanation is going to explain how Newton’s three laws of motion act upon a bottle rocket.
Newton's First law of motion states that every object will remain at rest unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. This law applies to our rocket because our rocket will stay at rest until the unbalanced force (thrust) propels our rocket up.
Newton's second law of motion is F = ma, or force is equal to mass times acceleration, this law involves our rocket because the heavier our rocket was the more acceleration we needed to get it off the ground.
Newton's Third law of motion states that every action has an opposite and equal reaction. When involving this law with our rocket it applies because the air pressure(thrust) pushes the air downwards which is the equal reaction then the rocket launches up which is the opposite reaction.
Newton's first law of motion helps the rocket move. Newton's Second law helps get the rocket off the ground, and Newton’s third law of motion helps our rocket go up. This is why the three laws of motion are important when you launch your rocket.
Did you learn what Newton’s three laws of motion are?
