Dear Primrose,
I am about to leave for Aotearoa. I feel excited and nervous because I am about to sail for at least 100 days to get to another country, far away from home. I have never been on such a long journey.
My longest trip before this was out past the reef to go fishing.
I am going with my whanau and several others from our village.
Hope to write to you again after we get there safely.
Imogen
Hi Imogen,
ReplyDeleteRuby here from the Summer Learning Journey team.
Great work with this letter! I really like how you have talked about it is the longest voyage you've ever been on and how you had only been past the reef previously.
Have you ever been on a boat before? I have been on a boat a few times but I get horribly sea sick so I'm never on a boat for very long!
I look forward to reading more of your blog over summer!
Cheers,
Ruby.
Hey Imogen,
ReplyDeleteThis is Jade C from the Summer Learning Journey team. I will be reading and commenting on your blog over this summer. I hope you are enjoying doing the SLJ activities and having fun with blogging.
you have done really well writing this letter to Primrose! I like all the details about the time (100 days) and your feelings (excited and nervous) that you included in the letter. It's always good to describe and explain every single thing in detail to make your writing interesting for the readers to read and for them to imagine the scene.
Keep up the awesome work and I will come back to read other activity posts!
All the best,
Jade C.
Great to see you have started your Summer Learning Journey. I'd love to see more posts and I hope you are adding many comments to other student's blogs. These activities will help you practice the skills you have learnt throughout the year.
ReplyDeleteKia Ora Imogen,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great letter you have written! I really enjoyed that you included how you'd be feeling and your past experiences before that journey.
Can you think of any activities you'd like to do when you arrive in New Zealand?
Just a reminder that the Summer Learning Journey has one more week! We'd love to read more blog posts from you! Have a look at the rest of the fun activities here: https://sites.google.com/site/summerlearningjourney/weekly-activities
Nga mihi
