He Tino Reke, He Tino Kawa

In Te Maunga we have made a google slides about  Maori food. We have been learning different Types of kai. Mrs Pou brought in some food so we could learn what sweet and sour is in Maori Mrs Pou told us that he tino Reke means very sweet and he tino Kawa means very sour. We were doing it to see what food is Reka (Sweet) or if it is Kawa (Sour).

Rocky Shore

At the start of  week 3 this term we made a google drawing about our rocky shore. We compared our Paihia rocky shore to a healthy untouched rocky shore. We had to find the things that where the same and the things that where difforent. To help the Paihia rocky shore I will make sure nobody picks up live creatures and throws them back on the rocks or in the rock pools.

Math goals

At the  beginning of term 2 we had to set  Math goals. We got our math goals from a sheet that had our goals on it, if our names were  not highlighted it meant that we had not achieved that goal. Our W.A.L.T was to set our math goals for this term. I chose these goals to improve my math.

Term 2 Writing goals

At the beginning of term 2 we had to set writing goals based on our goals from term 1 that we had not
achieved. We got the goals that we didn’t achieve
from a sheet, if our names weren't highlighted it means
that we didn’t  achieve that goal.
When we were getting our goals our
W.A.L.T  was to choose learning goals
for this term.
I chose these goals because they
can improve my writing skills for this term.

setting sail

Dear Primrose,

I am about to leave for Aotearoa. I feel excited and nervous because I am about to sail for at least 100 days to get to another country, far away from home. I have never been on such a long journey.

My longest trip before this was out past the reef to go fishing.

I am going with my whanau and several others from our village.

Hope to write to you again after we get there safely.

Imogen
